I'm gonna have to say no to that one. Slam or deathcore perhaps but real grind not so much. They are pretty pathetic in my opinion. That and that a lot of people I know try to tell me they are true norwegian black metal....from the US and they don't play black metal O.o so yeah try and explain that one to me /rant.

well let me say they aren't anywhere near what I would call grindcore which seems to be a blured line these days.

Stylistically they are very rap-like but I don't see anything rap-like about the music. There are many deathcore elements and many death metal elements in the music, another one of those weird 3/4ths death metal 1/4th metalcore hybrids. I agree with the description at metal-archives,
"Symphonic Deathcore/Blackened Death Metal"
I'm not sure I totally agree that it's blackened but that's a pretty good description. Personally I'm not ashamed to say I like some deathcore bands.

Nothing grindcore or numetal about them at all. Numetal is like Slipknot, Korn, Mushroomhead. Grindcore is something altogether different lol.

Edit: First link had some death metal while the second link was pretty much just deathcore. Some variety there. Maybe it has something to do with what album the songs are from.

Edit: Their new album is very different I now see. Just deathcore and I can see a bit of rap in it as well, although not from the singing pattern. Listen to the music in the background...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brSxnOYVoA0&NR=1
...sounds like something you would put in the background of a rap song.

Edit: It varies from moment to moment afterall.

Yeah nothing wrong with liking some deathcore I just can't wait until a few years from now and it starts to die of like with metalcore now its starting to die and you can finally weed out the good bands from all the ****. In a few years deathcore will hopefully do that and we can find some of the better bands hidden in all of the hype.

So far as I've heard, there is only one decent deathcore band: All Shall Perish.

Prisoner of War:

Some sweet riffage in there - the riff that comes in at 1.12 is orgasmic.
