PostSubject: More albums...   Sun Mar 29, 2009 12:40 am

Note: These are playlists I made by putting together all the songs of an album in the correct order. Listen once and if you want to listen again then think about buying it! If you have an album that you would like to have added let me know and I'll see if I can do it.

Note (04/03/09): I'm thinking about doing album reviews along with the album instead of this short crappy album list. This way you can listen to the album and read the review. Also since I'll be putting more time into it I'll want to choose better albums. Hopefully this will be a more interesting direction.

All of my Playlists: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=xjr9xjr9xjr9&view=playlists

Decrepit Birth's "Diminishing Between Worlds" (2008)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=97D1CD218BE27CB0
Comments: Decent technical brutal death metal.

Mayhem's "Ordo Ad Chao" (2007)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C3FA2F4BD3890DAC
Comments: While their obvious classic album was probably their best in the more traditional black metal sense, I think of this as their masterpiece. This is atmospheric black metal...but not what you would think of when you read that. It's extremely raw and evil atmospheric black metal.

Mayhem's "Live in Leipzig" (1993)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=78888F52EFB4885B
Comments: This is not just any live album but somewhat of a famous live album. From a historical perspective it is really interesting. I'm not really into the whole obsessing over black metal thing...not really into metal culture at all...but I have to admit it is pretty cool to listen to.

Mayhem's "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" (1994)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A38DD0F33D9BB228
Comments: Best studio album in my opinion other than maybe Ordo Ad Chao.

Nile's "Annihilation of the Wicked" (2005)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=B8F2321830CC0F7E
Comments: I haven't actually heard this whole album but I have heard most of the songs on it. I really recommend that this music gets played loudly. This album is really quite magical. When people think of death metal they tend to think of a pretty one dimensional sound. This album has so much more depth to it than your average death metal band.

Ulver's "Bergtatt - Et eeventyr i 5 capitler" (1995)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=AEF9A226175818A3
Comments: Black/folk metal.

Ulver's "Nattens Madrigal - Aatte Hymne til Ulven i Manden" (1997)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=5C739B8C1F08C059
Comments: Raw emotional black metal.

Emperor's "Into the Nightside Eclipse" (1994)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C7B5517BD689C582
Comments: One of the two good albums by Emperor

Wintersun's "Wintersun" (2004)
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=2907C509FBF173E9
Comments: A Winter blast of melodic death metal. Epic stuff.

Cradle of Filth's "The Principle of Evil Made Flesh"
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=CA0AA76E57C99D1E
Comments: I really like the song, "The Forest Whispers My Name" so I was somewhat excited to hear this album. I'm almost done with it right now and I have to say it's just kind of boring. Still there are a couple good songs in here. Really I don't think it's that bad but I probably won't listen to the album from beginning to end again. I'll just listen to the few songs that stood out.
Note: The last song is missing. It is 46 seconds long and can be found here: http://www.imeem.com/tag/Imperium%20Tenebrarum/. You'll need an account to listen to it though. Registering is free and easier than registering to a public forum. I think it's worth it just to listen to other music at the website. Also the song, "The Forest Whispers My Name" is from their EP "Vempire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein".

Darkthrone's "A Blaze in the Northern Sky"
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=5E1D4E7D8699475B
Comments: I enjoyed it considerably. A classic black metal work with death metal influences. The album cover wins cool points from me. I liked the vocals and the guitar riffs were good enough to carry a suitable heaviness and rawness while still being catchy from time to time and carrying a famous black metal vibe. This album made me wonder why I didn't take a closer look at Darkthrone earlier on. I've yet to check out their album, "Under a Funeral Moon." I will probably do that one next. It got even higher ratings.

Darkthrone's "Under a Funeral Moon"
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=D519D2E553ADD9D5
Comments: Raw, repetitive, and minimalistic describe this early black metal classic.

Darkthrone's "Transilvanian Hunger"
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=9AAE9CAFC29155D7
Comments: Pretty much the same as "Under a Funeral Moon" only the sound is fuller.

Children of Bodom's "Tokyo Wildhearts"
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C50C1BDAD82BA751
Comments: Children of Bodom at an earlier time in their career doing a good live show. I wasn't expecting much but it wasn't that bad. Some of the stuff was pretty good. Nothing took me off my feet. If you like melodic death metal it's worth a listen.

Satyricon's "Dark Medieval Times"
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C75F19F52F8C8D8D
Comments: This album puts the "ice" in "black metal". The production is awesome. The songs mix awesome raw and icy black metal with calming folk moments to produce something that is thoroughly enjoyable to listen to. If you ran into a newer song or album by Satyricon then you need to pretend it never existed and listen to this.

Note: This will be continually updated.

Man.

Live in Leipzig is a legendary BM album.
De misterys dom sathanas Is probably their best work ever.

A blaze in the northen sky is almost Darkthrone's Masterpiece...but i think Transylvanian hunger Was The best

Really good albums here mate.

I can reccomend.

Satyricon "Dark Medieval Times"

Give a listen to that one.
