PostSubject: Complete Shift   Sun Apr 05, 2009 6:45 pm

Within the last couple weeks. I feel as if my personality is gradually changing. I really don't care about video games anymore. I am starting to listen to not just metal. I'm going to the gym. Reading books?! Going to get togethers to do nothing and loving it
I just realized now all these things.
I think I need to start quality posts from now on. Hell I'm almost at 10000 posts. (Expect a speech when it happens)
Has anyone else gone through, going through something similar? Tons of minor details that add up?

Right there with you, I am playing games less and almost never online as i'm starting to feel my real socialising is alot more important than my online socialising. Although I'm not really experiencing a shift the likes of which you are, can be hard to cope with so many personal changes at once, but if it's something you're happy with then embrace it, change can be a good thing Smile

Hahaha i've noticed all you aren't on as much as you were when i joined. I kinda go in and out of that, you just need to figure out how to juggle your social life and your non-social life. I play video games quite a bit, but i try to hang out with my friends and family a lot too. I've always been into other genres than metal, but i know what you mean. Sometimes you need to get out a routine you've been in. I feel that people don't really change, they just grow. Even if you don't play video games as much, I'm sure you still love to play them, am i right? It's just adding new things for you to do

Well that just means you love games. As long as you don't abandon your friends and sh!t so you can sit at home and play lol, you're fine. Plus i wished you get back into gears, we need to play together lol.

The most dramatic personality change I ever had started in the 9th grade. I was probably the most obnoxious person in the school and now I'm one of the shyest. As for games I still like them but I've grown really picky. If the game doesn't have a lot of depth and competition then I don't want to even pick it up.

As for tastes in music I've been expanding them continually. Pretty recently I finally started breaking the metal barrier and now listen to a fair amount of music that isn't straight up metal or isn't metal at all. Also unlike in the 10th and 11th grade I listen to flavorful music whereas I used to focus on only the most angry, hate-filled, evil, and crushing metal bands. Of course that's all great but it's not my primary focus any more.

Maturity is hard to define for me because I have a different outlook on things compared to most people. I listen a lot, am very civilized, and never get angry at other people. During my late elementary school and middle school years I would want to torture a lot of people.

I've had some major changes but most of it has just been the result of philosophical thoughts.

I guess I have changed some, I mean I have a broader musical taste still a metalhead's spirit. Games I haven't been big on in a number of years. In a worldly sense I have become more drawn in, in groups I really don't deal well with certain types of people and my personal view of myself has become more, obscure let's say.

wow, so many srs discussions of late.

well, i find myself not changing much. i think i play wayyyy too many video games.....and watch wayyyy too much tv....but i enjoy it. and when my friends are here.....i have fun with them.
i have made several evaluations of myself...and i think i need to cutback the tv shows. wow. probably on average 4 hours of tv on my laptop a day. im a full time student and i have a low hour job....10 hours a week. idk

as for music....id like to think i have changed. i have changed far from being 17 and listening to static-x and whatnot. idk though......i have definitely broadened my tastes

Byd, this is how it starts, you know. One day it's "I like Blink 182", the next it's "I think I like men".

Well...all this is...EVOLUTION BABY!.
i mean.,.10 years ago i listened to linkin park...5 years i was a DIE HARD maggot...Nowadays..i found what i really was looking for...Black metal...something i wont get bored of......i've been listening to BM much more than any other kind of music...6 years its a lot....i mean Linkin Park was what...2 years...and Maggot.ism was like 1 year and a half...
i think that the more we grow...the more our tastes changes...and we start to define ourselves...to what we are going to become in the future...

I still like all the music I liked as a child pretty much, maybe just not as much. I started out listening to hard rock and things like Van Halen and Judas Priest, then nu-metal like Disturbed and Slipknot, then Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir, then metalcore like Between the Buried and Me and Unearth, then death metal, and I was already interested in black metal but I really started expanding my tastes in black metal when I discovered Marduk. I'm not sure what direction I'm going in now but I seem to be exploring a lot of sub-genres and basically hitting up on every major band that I might have missed...which takes a while.
