Hahaha Buckcherr.... ew. and korn.... ew. I'd love to see Dokken and AC/DC, and Sebastian Bach would be good too. My list isn't counting all the crappy bands i've seen that are from where I live.

Nope that is EVERY concert I've been to. Korn were pretty ok, they seemed bored though and I wouldn't see em again. I went to see FFDP and Droid. I took my ex to see korn. and yes Dokken was amazing. Sebastian was fun cause his mic went out and he thew a ***** fit lol. He's a beast live though. AC/DC was amazing as well. But my favorite concerts I've been to were the Aiden one and the Senses fail one. I just really like high energy club shows.

I think I saw Aiden when they were first starting one of their first tours like 5 years ago. They played at a local hangout thing for like 5 bucks. That also included like 10 other bands lol

I'm a really big fan of HIM (actually there are no .'s) back in the day and still am actually have their entire discog. I liked HH's first album, second sucked, and with Casey gone I really don't care much anymore. I started big into punk, then moved into metalcore, then into post hardcore, then back into heavy metal and extreme metal, now a days I'm pretty broad and just lately I've been re exploring metalcore and posthardcore. Actually I've been really big into punk lately O.o I just like music lol.

Iron Maiden a few years back with my father.
Slipknot a couple years back with my mom and dad.
Rush with my dad and some of his friends. My Uncle was there but had hot-shot tickets.

I enjoyed Iron Maiden's concert the most. For Slipknot it was new stuff which I wasn't that big on and it was also too loud so I was just plugging my ears 80% of the time. That's the price of forgetting ear plugs.

I can't say I've ever been to a concert that was too loud. Now I've sat through some bad sound mixings but thats a different story.

I'm still trying to figure out how bashing a musical style you don't listen to or like really makes you seem more "metal" it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. And honestly if you don't like emo then why the **** do metalheads seem to obsess over hateing it? /rant

Okay. Here is my complete, unabridged reason. I dislike emos and emo bands mostly because of the way they complain. I can't stand it when bands cry about life all the time! Every song is a sad song about their girlfriend leaving them or something. It's annoying! There has to be happy stuff in life too. I mean, if you're like "ARG METAL!" all the time, you are fake. But, at the same time, if you are *sob* "MY GIRLFRIEND LEFT ME!" all the time, you have some problems. There has to be a mixture of the two. The thing about emo bands is that they never have any variation. Every song is the same old bullsh!t, and it makes it not worth listening to. That's my opinion of course, but i'm pretty sure that that is the reason why the general population of metalheads don't take kindly to emo crap.

And a large general population of metal bands in certain genres always sing about the same **** too. And there are some "emo" bands that dont' just sing about the same thing over and over and are pretty good actually. I mean you don't have to like it that's not what I'm saying but just the single minded obsession so many people have with bitching about it is just kind of annoying to me really. Maybe it's just the post hardcore fan in me.

You kinda missed the point. Metal bands sometimes sing about the same things, but usually it isn't depressing, incessant complaining.

So music that holds other emotions besides being happy shouldn't be played? And sometimes? How many bands do you need with the same subject matter to be sometimes. I mean really everything is cliche by this point in human existance.

(note I don't dislike you or anything don't see this as a direct attack or anything of the sort I'm just wondering your opinions)

I'm really the same way as Brute. I mean i don't agree with homosexuality, but as long as I don't have to hear about what you do in your bedroom, I am fine. I just think that some emo bands push it way too far. It's like, okay we understand you aren't happy, now sing about something else. Hawthorne Heights is a good example. They had like a whole CD which was just about their lead singer and his girlfriend. The dreariness kinda gets old. I think that bands should put positive and negative energy into songs, not just one or the other.

Yeah, I suppose I mean it's just that the way I see it metalheads get annoyed when people do the whole "hateful, satanist, whatever" sterotypes against metal music and just metalheads in general. And I think that alot of meatlheads do the same thing to emo really, just me though.

Look i kinda agree, but it's more of just a joke than anything. I mean I'm not going to kill someone that's emo, it's just that it's kinda fun to joke around about them you know? How it's all whiny music and what have you. And i definitely don't tell them personally what I think about emo music, just the same as i don't want to hear people's negative opinions about metal. It's just that I personally love to joke around about things, so I do. I try to keep everything light, so that way the sh!tty things don't look so bad.

BFMV doesn't belong on a stage as far as I'm concerned, but that's just my opinion lol.

Exactly hate. But I think you guys all need to understand that most of the time when I am b!tching about something like that I am joking. I admit I don't care for emo music and such, but i'm not on a crusade against it. I just love to screw around is all

My buddy listens to BFMV when he drives me home from school. I showed him Bodom, and he thinks the keyboards, or background effects as he calls them, make it gay. I showed him Ensiferum, and he said that since they sing about fantasy themes they are gay. I showed him Sonata Arctica, HammerFall, and Blind Guardian, and he says they sound like 80's hair metal because of their singing style, which he hates. I'm pretty sure that's the idiot mentality of a lot of people who listen to that fake metal. BFMV, Underoath, Silverstein, just because they scream doesn't make them metal. That's what the commercialized "metal" like that does to the general poplulation

I like Underoath and Silverstein and neither of those bands list themselves as metal. All of the people I know who listen to them list them as screamo actually. I mean there are fake "metalheads" out there and people who think they listen to metal and they don't but honestly they are the minority of the people I know/have met.
