Oh yeah, I like Arsis. One of my favorite melodic death metal bands, probably top 10 or top 5.

Really!? I never would have guessed : P lol.

I reallly wanted to add something to this list but I realized I know far more about brutal death metal. Unless you want to consider Vader or Kataklysm tech death. Hmm I feel this sparks an interesting genre debate Dies Irae lol.

Hmm, some brutal death is suprisingly easy to play, at least for the guitar, but you have bands like Defeated Sanity who are definitely technical and brutal. I'm not really to fussed with death metal as long as it's not boring old school stuff like Obituary, I'll probably like it no matter how it's labelled.

Yeah I generally like most death metal, I even like the boring old school stuff lol. My favorites though are probably Suffocation, Heaving Earth (new band), Kataklysm, Morbid Angel (as overrated as they may be), Deicide, Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, wow this list is longer than I thought it would be lol.

I'm not a death metal fanatic but I like my fair share of it.

I like a LITTLE bit of death, and a lot of melodeath, but I just find tech death too self-absorbed.

Damn I'm really behind on my death metal since the loss of my old iPod.

Some death metal bands I really like are Suffocation, Monstrosity, Death, and Nile.
I like tons others but I like those three a bit more than the rest on average, especially the first three.

I enjoy just about all forms of death metal. A lot of the vocals in brutal death metal I don't get into as much but I do like things like Disgorge and Devourment. Old school death metal like Morbid Angel, Obituary, Autopsy, etc...all very cool (and Possessed). Technical death metal...The Faceless, Necrophagist, Arsis, Psycroptic. I like all the more well-knowns like Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal, Deicide, etc. I like it all pretty much...just can't get into porngrind so much. "Horror" death metal...Bloodfreak, Necrophagia...okay I'm stopping now.

I like grind a lot. Pornogrind I don't care for much, and goregrind is kinda iffy sometimes. But overall I like a lot of grind. Nasum, Rot, Agathocles, Pig Destroyer, Napalm Death, Bile, Sublime Cadaveric Decompositon, ah some good stuff lol.

Grind is a bit to hit and miss for me to get into, but the bands who do it well (Pig Destroyer!) are ****ing great.

For me I pretty well like all grind and can listen to like any of it. But it's rare that I really get into a band. Also Dies Irae whats your favorite Pig Destroyer album? I only have Phantom Limb.

You know I've never been able to get into Meshuggah at all. I tried but they just didn't really click.

That would be true if they were a death metal band... which they are most certainly not.

Terrifyer, with PL running a close second. The only bad album they've done is Natasha, everything else is worth getting.

Whoever called them that was wrong. Wikipedia has them as experimental metal, Metal Archives as technical post trash (which I agree with from a guitarists POV)... no one I know would call them death metal unless they've never heard anything heavier than At The Gates.

They're the polyrhythmic version of the Haunted.

1) Ok thanks Dies Irae
2) Thanks Aeldy I'll check those songs out and see what I think.
3) Yeah Dies is pretty big on stuff like that ^_^ but I agree with him, they are more post thrash.
