PostSubject: The Song of the Week (new title) 14 BRUTE   Mon Jun 15, 2009 6:26 pm

Well guys, i havent kept up with this as much as i like to have. So insted of calling it the song of the day, i think i can post a song every week. With that said, here is this weeks edition
i have no idea what to call this. epic story metal, symphonic metal....idk. All i know is that this is a very intriguing band and i have been listening to this album more than expected...so i present thee....

Ayreon - Age of Shadows

Arjen Lucassen creates this stunning music, with the help of many guest stars. i suggest looking at the wikipedia page to see if you recognize anybody. Notebly, James LaBrie of Dreamtheater, Akerfeld from Opeth, and that dude from Blind Guardian makes a special appearance on the album.

Ayreon - 01011001

We never saw this coming
Pride comes before our fall
We never heeded the warning
Buried deep within us all

The age of shadows has begun
(Giant machines blot out the sun)
Frozen lands becoming known
(The age of shadows has begun)

The age of Shadows has begun
(I won't accept what we've become)
We stand to lose more than we've won
(The age of Shadows has begun)

Our quenchless thirst for knowledge
Our urge to change and grow
Our need to expand the nation / extermination
Made us rise from the depths below

The age of shadows has begun
(Giant machines blot out the sun)
Frozen lands becoming known
(The age of shadows has begun)

The age of Shadows has begun
(I won't accept what we've become)
We stand to lose more than we've won
(The age of Shadows has begun)

No more aggression
(No more initiative)
No more suppression
(no more emotions)
No more resection
(no more of all the feelings that shaped our hearts and made us who we are)
No more possessions
(No more suspicious)
No more obsessions
(No more sensations)
No more depression
(no more of all the passions that shaped our hearts and made us who we are)

Time (time, time)
but a passageway (a passageway, a passageway)
the beginning of the end (of the end)
an end that never was (was, was, was)
time (time, time)
but a curve in space (curve in space, curve in)

we are forever (we are forever, we are forever))
Eternal prisoners in time (in time, in time)
we are forever (we are forever)
caught in our cold inertia
Longing, hoping, waiting, for no...

Forever we are, forever we learn
Forever we live a lie, forever sleeping by
And forever we flee, (forever we flee)
Forever we be, Forever is but our dreams
Forever is but a scream and forever we try
Forever we die, the spell of life for all
possessed for life, not enough
Longing, hoping, waiting, for no one
Never enough

Zero (one) one (zero) one (zero) zero (zero)
zero (one) one (zero) zero (one) zero (one)
zero (one) one (zero) one (one) zero (zero)
zero (one) one (one) zero (zero) zero (zero)

Zero (one) one (zero) one (zero) zero (zero)
zero (one) one (zero) zero (one) zero (one)
zero (one) one (zero) one (one) zero (zero)
zero (one) one (one) zero (zero) zero (zero)

off (on) on (off) off (on) on (off)
off (on) on (off) on (on) on (on)
off (on) on (on) off (off) on (on)
off (on) on (off) off (on) off (on)

no (yeah) yeah (yeah) no (no) yeah (yeah)
no (yeah) yeah (no) yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah)
no (yeah) yeah (yeah) no (no) yeah (yeah)

Forever we try, forever we die, forever, forever
Forever we try, forever we die, forever, forever
Forever we tie, forever we die, forever, forever
Longing, hoping, waiting, for no one

No more aggression
(No more initiative)
No more suppression

Byd, this is how it starts, you know. One day it's "I like Blink 182", the next it's "I think I like men".

hate, this album is sooo funky. its like space age power metal, but it has elements of symphnoy

heres the perfect way to describe it

you and your wife/gf in the year 2100 want to go out for a date on Broadway. you notice that there is a very good symphony p[laying called Ayreon, and being that you are both metal heads, you decide to go. You have an excellent night listening and experiencing the music. yopu then go home and have passionate, raw, lustful......

woah, sorry, mixing up my stories....well, ayreon is just like that
