PostSubject: Wintersun's "Time"   Sun Jun 28, 2009 7:02 pm

Time is the second full-length album by the Finnish metal band Wintersun. It was originally scheduled for release in November 2006, but was delayed until August 2007 and then until 2008. Its recording commenced on May 2, 2006 at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki. The mixing of the album, previously scheduled for May 2007 in Sonic Pump Studios, has been delayed due to technical reasons, notably gear breakdowns.

As of the commencement of recording, Jari Mäenpää has stated that the album length runs over 65 minutes, and it will be a concept album.[1] Furthermore, according to Mäenpää, the album's sound will be highly intricate. Each song is said to contain about 200 tracks.[1] The album's complexity is one of the main reasons for its slow production process. As of April 2007, drums, bass and all the guitars have been recorded. Kai Hahto has recently stated on the official site that due to studio intervention, progress is being made, but has also announced that they will not be giving any more release dates at this time, so as not to disappoint fans if it is not met.

As a teaser for the upcoming album, Wintersun ended their Metalcamp 2008 set with a 15 second preview of one of their new songs; this song is said to be 14 minutes in length and very melodic.

On March 2, 2009, Jari announced through Wintersun's official website that the band would cancel all their live appearances, including Bloodstock Open Air and Summer Breeze, in order to make way for the slow progress of the album.

I can't wait, this is going to be so epic

Their first album was legendary. It just sucks that I only have like 7 songs by them to listen to, so this is really anticipated for me

On my old iPod I would listen to the album in this order...

Battle Against Time
Beautiful Death
Beyond the Dark Sun
Death and Healing
Sadness and Hate
Starchild
Sleeping Stars
Winter Madness

I like it way better in that order, I don't know why.

Winter Madness was the most epic song on that album I think, it's fitting for a final song. Battle Against Time is also epic, so it would make a good opener or closer. Hell, they're all good... lol

Byd, this is how it starts, you know. One day it's "I like Blink 182", the next it's "I think I like men".
