[2] Nazgul (Ita) - De Expugnatione Elfmuth

Nazgul is a two man band from Italy. They play epic folk black metal music with lyrics based on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. The album De Expugnatione Elfmuth is their only full-length offering and is an amazing listen. For one, the pace of the music is incredibly fast and diverse yet very catchy and memorable. Despite this the album is a healthy 46 minutes long. The main vocal style is somewhat akin to a train whistle, which may take a moment to adjust to, but ends up being very good indeed. Fans of folk metal should especially give it a try.

i've had this for awhile and when i first heard it i thought it was pretty cool. it was akin to later day summoning but the vocals were so irritating that i had to give up on the band. i do like the music, though. it's just like the vocalist never stops. ever. whole cd with him screeching. i just couldn't get myself to tolerate it

i do recommend the cd, though. at least give it a shot because it is pretty glorious and i'm pretty sure the vocals are just my hang-up. there's a lot of spoken word parts that are really cool, too. it's got the majestic rhapsody/summoning style and takes you right into the land of hobbits. then the vocalist comes in and makes you cringe
