PostSubject: Wanderer Cover   Mon Jul 27, 2009 3:35 am

Needless to say, I'm much better at simply listening to music lol

But this is what I've been working on tonight. This is on of the coolest songs I've ever heard, and I hope that one day I can actually improve my playing ability enough so it sounds good. I'd really like to play this song with a band if I ever get into one. There are quite a few mistakes, because I had to layer these parts on tracks using audacity and a microphone that I used to use for World of Warcraft. But anyway here is my cover of Ensiferum's "Wanderer".

For someone doing this with only a voice mike and audacity, it sounds f***ing great. Do you want to work on one over the internet with me because I have been looking for someone to do Ensiferum covers with.

Hell yeah bro!

and thanks so much for the complement! I'm not that good at playing in general, but I've actually been working on a few Ensiferum songs. Treacherous Gods is another one I've been working on, but that one's a lot harder. Which ones are you interesting in doing?

Gah! I just listened to it again, and around 2:20 it sounds horrendous! The transition to the soft interlude section, I'm going to have to fix that.

Well, I was thinking Into Battle or Windrider. I can do most of their stuff, Even Lai Lai Hei is possible. Whatever you want is good to me.

This is absolutely amazing dude. I do not want to hear any "I suck" from you. This is an awesome cover. Keep it up. It sounds very well good and well rehersed and well synced

Wow thanks byd! Yeah syncing it is the hardest part. What I have to do is play the rhythm part first, then play a long to it slightly early because of the input lag. But thanks a lot for the complement.

Link: Windrider would be another awesome choice. We should definitely do that one

Okay, Windrider it is, I will get my band to learn their respective parts, do you want to do rhythm or lead?

Okay I'll start working on it. How do you want it done? Do you just want me to send you my part, or do you want to send me your band's parts and I'll mix it?

See, the hard part in doing it over the internet is getting it synced. I think maybe when we are ready to record it we should play along to the actual song so it's like a metronome, and then we'll be better in sync

Well, my friend has a recording studio in his basement, so we could use his studio to record our part and mix the whole thing, all you would have to do is record your part and send it to me.

Okay will do. I just hope we can get it synced right, but this is going to be so kickass when we're done. I'm gonna mess with my microphone and stuff and try to get my part to sound louder, because the heavy parts tend to be quieter for some reason.

I wonder if Hate listened to this. I was hoping he would share his expert insight and give me some criticism
