PostSubject: The *Best* Song for Non-Metal People   Mon Aug 31, 2009 11:25 pm

And by *best* I of course mean the worst that will scare them shitless.

I still think it is this:
http://www.imeem.com/shaider57/music/WrWB-pEI/wormphlegm-tomb-of-the-ancient-king/
-God it sounds so good.

Xasthur actually has some songs that can do this job well:
Xasthur - Keeper of Sharpened Blades and Ominous Fates
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDIqUoHkbXo
-This one just drags you in right away and there is no escape.
Of course Dreams Blacker Than Death also works.

Mutiilation - Suffer the Gestalt
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTpCHMEcTR4
-Just because it starts out freaky and then when the vocals come in it even surprises someone who is very experienced with metal.

Actually...what about Mortician? I remember when I first heard Mortician a couple years or so back it just blew me away I was so excited by how heavy it was. The only question is what song to pick...

Mortician - Chainsaw Disembowelment
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-1Xd8_dwTc
-When the riff starts even I get a little scared.

But really almost any Mortician song would do the trick.
Another:

Damn I remember one but I can't find it right now.

This one will scare the women...
Fornicator - Shut The f*** Up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwxLWH4efxk

Necrophagia is good.
Necrophagia - Black Blood Vomitorium
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xXI35GSQI8
-For a demonic thing, but check out this next one...

Necrophagia - Children of the Vortex
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8pQXeegQWU
-The intro is just horrible.

And yeah I could think of lots others but this is good for now. Also if you want you could discuss the best song for drawing someone into metal, although we all know it's going to be an Iron Maiden song so that kind of limits the suggestions. Maybe talk about good songs for drawing people into a specific genre.

Death/grind is the shock horror of music. I know there is a whole lot more I could have mentioned.

Hardcore seems to piss people off alot too. But yeah any kind of Death Metal or Black Metal usually does the trick just fine.

I think some of Necrophagia's music would do a really good job because it has that really haunting music in the background.

I know I mention this song too much but seriously it's such a god damn good song and OF COURSE it'll scare non-metal people shitless.

Gorgoroth - Ritual

From personal experience and what I've heard others say...
Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills
Enter Sandman is also really good for recruiting.
