Do you ever like a band before you even hear it?

I don't know why but I was just sitting around and suddenly felt a massive urge to listen to Toxic Holocaust. Never heard them before. It just popped up in my head and I thought, "Damn Toxic Holocuast kicks mother f***ing ass hell yeah." Matter of fact I started typing this post before the video even started and it's only like 30 seconds in right now. Loving it. As in it's already a favorites love.

Toxic Holocaust - War Is Hell
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Jzd4JujfSU

Hear the air raid sirens that warn you of your death
Close your eyes, say goodbye, and take your last breath
Turn this place to rubble, a city turns to ash
Nuclear fire will turn the sand to glass
Bombers bringing death with every fly ahead
Total f***ing holocaust, everyone's dead
Death and destruction is all youll ever know
Living in the ashes that you once called home

Scream out for mercy, hell can be seen
Scream out for freedom, wake me from this dream
Chaos runs rampant, the city burns in flames
No hope for us, and no one will be saved
War is hell, tanks secure the line
Bomber above, destroying all the time
Hear the air raid sirens that warn you of your death
Close your eyes, say goodbye, and take your last breath

War is f***ing Hell

Damn and I saw this at Best Buy I should have gotten it.

Yup, Iced Earth
Saw a dude wearing a shirt that said Iced Earth
I'm like that must be a badass power metal band
And it was

I've experienced that, and I've also experienced a sort of opposite to that. When I first heard of Equilibrium and Norther, I hated them and hadn't even listened to them. I dunno why I disliked Equilibrium, but I hated Norther because I wanted to put an "N" at the end so it was a real word.

I'm trying to think of bands that fit your idea.

Yeah I agree axe on that point. Manilla Road, King Crimson, The doors, the names just sound unappealing

I thought King Crimson was a very metal sounding name. It sounds like a British way of saying "satan".

The Doors was also appealing to me for some reason, probably because of how random it was at the time. Manilla Road just sounds horrible. That is one of my least favorite band names, I'm gonna be honest here.

When I think of metal, doors is the last thing on my mind ahah
Manilla road, I think of a child's cartoon
Also I wouldn't give Scar symmetry a chance because it sounded so emo

Manila Road reminds me of f***ing envelopes.

The Doors just sounded cool, especially since it was from the 60s.

King Crimson sounds f***ing metal imo

Scar Symmetry sounded emo to me too, but their music is definitely not

Savage Circus. I hate them and I haven't listened to them. Reminds me of icp, and that makes me want to throw up.

uhhhh, I loved HammerFall when I first heard of them. I also really enjoyed Nightwish. Actually, if it wasn't for Nightwish's name, I wouldn't be into them because I hated them for a long time but really loved the name, and one day it clicked.

Out of everything, I have to say Iced Earth is the most badass name I came across

Am I the only one that band names don't phase me at all?

Also thanks for picking that up Portrait. Even though I like the Streetlight version better lol.

I haven't really listened to Streetlight Manifesto, what are they like? Come to think of it, I haven't even heard anything good or bad about them, I just know they exist.

They have the same vocalist as Catch 22 and actually cover the entire Keasbey Nights album. They are my favorite ska band. I'll give you a couple songs.

DT is fantastic, but At The Gates is better.
