He never has told me any of his war stories, I am respectful and try not to let him recall it but I never knew he was a hero. I have his navy cross and silver star all polished in my momentos, he hated that war and did his time there he said and that was that.

I've always considered those who make peace heroes rather than the ones who end it. But to each his own, I guess.

I do have respect for the military though, before you all jump on me. I just don't consider them heroes. In other words, I wouldn't want my son to grow up to be a marine.

Hate is a hero to me not so much for what he did but for everything. Just being Hate makes him a hero to me. When a person goes through so much stuff and comes out so strong I don't know what else to call them, even if they might be hard on themselves sometimes.

what do you mean? i can do an opeth thread....i love them

and hate....holy cow. yes, happy veterans day. and i had a very weird thought....
yesterday, i was playing COD4:2. brutal fighting, killing, blood, and i though..."what an odd way to remember vets day"

i thought it was funny, but then awkward. so hahaha.

i agree with portrait, that the way to honor is through peace, but i know you did what you were told to do and were blessed with an incredible amount of dedication and honor to be able to do what was asked of you. to basically give yourself up, to put the biggest sacrifice on the line....that is dedication. and im glad there are people like you.....

now, what we need are people like you to be on a black ops. rag-tag team to go and take out the people that start these things....
but i guess...that would be a vicious circle, eh?

we have a show called "metal eye" that puts on metal and rock vids.
anyway we were watching it and they put satriani on. now you have to remember that this is a 45 year old woman we're talking about and she still kicks ass. but right after satriani the put opeth. then she went on a rant about that junk they call music, that that isn't a band. it sounds more like a frozen ape with a diarrhea. that's not music, someone should shove their instruments up their asses. they would actually sound better then.

now you see why i was waiting for a special occasion? that frozen apes is sth that even i wouldn't think off
