How we've gone without this thread for you guys I don't know. This is atmospheric black metal 101.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWgOLsNN8Yk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw3qefcXhZU I'm sure you know how to use links well enough to get the rest of this song and part 2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPRCL1lSgJ0 Video response if the second part.

The album, Diadem of 12 Stars, can be downloaded here:

megaupload.com 4M9TRLBK

This is their first and best album. If anyone likes it, I'll post Two Hunters, but their latest album, Black Cascade, is not that good, so I wont go there.

Eww, Galder, yuk. Well, he did do Satanic Art, which is something, but seriously, I really don't like Old Man's Child.

Better than Demon Burger that's for sure though. In Defiance of Existence is a solid album too.

For All Tid and Stormblåst are both decent albums actually. Can't say I listen to DB at all really, but I prefer those two albums to anything OMC have done.

Hestnæs needs to leave DB so bad and actually put his considerable talents to good use, he's wasted in that band.

WitTR is an amazing band, Two Hunters is my favorite. Black Cascade is a good album, and the debut is worthy as well. The demo is...different, but still good (a lot heavier than their full-lengths).

Vortex left a while ago; new Lamented Souls next year and possible Arcuturs reunion

And eh, For All Tid and Stormblast are ok

See, I just don't keep up with DB, but that's great news. Fired as well, do you know what for? An Arcturus reunion would be sweet, they haven't done a bad album yet, though I do prefer SS because Hestnæs has an epic voice.

Idk, he just was along with their keyboardist.

Actually, a guy I know from back home was actually going to do some session bass work with them but I never asked whatever happened to that. Plus I knew a guy who set up their stuff for them. He thought to himself "Why is it so heavy, are the f***ing rocks in here or something?" Turn out they were rocks used for their live stuff. Rocks along with like twigs and other stuff.

They are well known conservationists and are into all of that kinda friends of the earth stuff. Still a little odd to put rocks and twigs inside your amps though, lol.

Get Two Hunters as well. It doesn't hit you with "awesome" right away like the first one does, and it's a lot tamer with some lengthy ambient/female clean sections. But it's a grower, and once you find out how amazing it is, it is better than the debut.

Two Hunters is by far the best, but Diadem and the new EP are still fantastic.
