Dammit I forgot Kamelot and Avantasia

Thanks though, you should try something you don't recognize, unless you recognize all of the bands. In that case you'd be more awesome

Yea I'm really not into Power Metal either, it's mostly the vocals. I do like Epica and a tiny bit of Nightwish, because the female vocals aren't as over-the-top as Blind Guardian and their ilk.

What? Gothic Metal? The gathering? no way, the gathering started as a death metal band and ended as something more progressive

Additional notes
Although The Gathering started out as a doom/death metal outfit, they have evolved into a more atmospheric rock band throughout the past decade, and have progressed in this direction since vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen joined in the mid 90's.

No way they are gothic, i dont even think they count as metal lol

Well honestly "Gothic Metal" is a stupid term anyway, since Gothic music is electronic rock like Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy.

Well Ms Aeldy, I was trying to find some way to define these bands. If I just said "Gothic Metal", people were going to start posting some stuff that I wasn't really intending. I could have just said bands with classically trained female vocals lol. That's basically what this list is. Sorry if I offended, but I love this kind of music.

@Blackstar - Visions of Atlantis is a new band I've gotten into, I really like them alot
