PostSubject: Story of the Assembly   Tue Dec 09, 2008 9:22 pm

Written by BYD
School assemblies are such a bore. I get tired after a couple minutes and they are usually an hour. I am 17 and on my last year of high school thank god. I have learned much from guests speakers and cannot possibly learn more. I can't wait to finish up, so today we have an assembly that leads me to write this. Period 2 teacher always lets my friend and I stay in the class to use the computers to do work. Usually a couple kids stay behind but today it was only the two of us. The teacher helped us block every possibly way to look in the class to no other teacher finds out she let us skip the get together. We put black paper over the window, close the doors, close the blinds to the room behind us, and lastly turn off the lights.
So I did about ten minutes of work and started screwing around. My friend, Kyle, starts being an idiot. He takes his phone out and pretends to be Cloverfield. He records and says, okay this is the plan, we have barricaded the doors from the zombies...Here is Dave. He points the camera at me and I say "I...am so startled!" A quote from South Park. He stops recording and says if a teacher walks in we quickly press the button on the monitor turning it off and go under the desk and hide.
I walk to where the door was and he does under the desk as a practice run. I say "If the person looks in quick they can't see, its too dark,, but if they touched the lights we are fucked." So we go around the class to a desk that you can see from the door when were under. Excellent
So I do some more work and we hear people outside, teachers saying "What did I say about skipping?!" Were like oh ****. The sounds of doors closing were constant. This was a badass skip. It was risky but I don't care because it was fun. Then it happened. I heard a key enter the door and in less then two seconds my computer was shut and I was under the desk. My friend followed three seconds later. We frooze under the desk. He had the funniest look of his face. He had his eyes closed and he had the biggest look of **** on his face. I was like oh **** as all the lights turned on and I heard pacing right on the other side of the desk. We wait for a minute, no more sounds. I mouth "Wtf?" to my friend. He says I don't know. That was awesome, I never actually hid from someone that had a consequence. I felt like a kid, hiding from the inevitable detention. We stand up. "Should we go?" I ask. "I dunno." So we stand still for a while, taking in our stealthly escape. What if he comes back? Who was that? If its the principal were screwed. Then I hear walking and there he is. Mr.Bellai. Kyle says "Bellai". Mr.Bellai says, oh...hi Kyle. Kyle says "Was it you who came in?" "Yeah, okay close this door when your done here k?" He leaves.
Here is the funny thing. Mr.Bellai has been suspended 3-4 times from a variety of schools for hitting on the girls. He is probably in his late 50's. We know that he locked a girl in the class with her and was asking her personal questions last year as she told everyone. Now why would this guy come in our computer lab just to say close this door? I smell something fishy

there are some jobs that pay very well for creative writing. magazine companys pay lots of money. tabloids are huge. editorials for newspapers. very large field
but ye, more risky than comm job. im gonna be a graphic artist, so my pay will (word of the day) will vacillate.

Magazines writing would be cool.
But all the good ones are in America and are as competitive as hell

PostSubject: Re: Story of the Assembly   Thu Dec 11, 2008 9:38 pm

Here is a start to the methods

Methods- I have constructed a survey to distribute that compares to the academic journals that I have sourced. I hypothesize that my results will be in favour of the person writing the survey. What I mean by this is that they will not admit to being a frequent customer of lottery tickets. A number of my questions ask if the person buys tickets frequently or buys them when they are short in funds. I am also comparing the spending money of lottery tickets to events such as the movie theater or sporting events. I predict that most people will not purchase the tickets instead of attending events such as the movies. I would also assume that depending on the age of the person they would prefer certain events over the other. I speculate that the younger the person is, the more they enjoy the movie theater. On the other hand, I think that the older than person is, the more likely they will be to prefer heritage institutions. I believe if anyone over the age of forty would not be significantly altered if they won the lottery for the simple fact that they usually have the job that they have been working towards and are already able to pay for their needs and wants. Another thought to consider is that most people I am surveying already have a well paying job. On the contrary, young adults need to worry about debt and being able to pay for extravagantly expensive schooling with residence. Most adults, young and old, enjoy entertainment. When issues such as mobility and expenses are no longer a barrier, they would attend more frequently.

The abstract is the part that comes after the intro which is a long summary of the entire paper so people will read that section if they are wondering if they should use your source or not
