Well, it was originally a Fender Strat, but I switched it out with some EMG 81/81's, A new all maple neck, Grover locking tuners, new saddles for the bridge, and the body seems to be basswood.

Not the biggest fan of EMGs or active picups in general because they make all guitars sound the same but whatever. Do you have a nice amp to go with that guitar?

I got one hopefully coming in. So far, I got my Raven RH100 2x12, and I use a preamp to get some of my sounds, it sound pretty good. I love EMG's, I had some Seymour Duncans and I liked those, and I am not too much of a fan of Dimarzio's, thought they make a hell of a pickup.

I sorta like the 5150, but truthfully, I played this Randall that would make Peavey cry. I could NEVER afford a ENGL, though I would love one.

Randall's make decent enough solid state amps, but you can't go wrong with the 5150 because odds are at least one of your favorite bands uses one

True, I live Peavey, but I also love Randall. Marshall's, in my honest opinion, are just loud. They aren't that good.

That guitar definitely is a looker, but I have to say EMG humbuckers on a strat just seem completely wrong lol. But EMGs are my favorite pickups, it should sound excellent. Nice job man

I believe you could put emg's in a daisy rock guitar, and it would be brutal. Emg's are so nice. And thanks.

It isn't a strat because you used EMG pickups. Active pickups, especially EMGs, rob guitars of their natural tone and just give it the standard EMG sound. While not bad, I wouln't use EMGs for more than one guitar in your entire collection.

Oh I don't, this is my only one. I use blues pickups for my other guitar. I just hated the pickups in my strat and wanted some metal ones.

My current main guitar (Ibanez RGT) has a Seymour Duncan JB on the bridge and a DiMarzio Air Norton in the neck, split coils, Planet Waves auto-trim tuners, moved volume knob so it doesn't get in the way and the back of the neck is sanded so the paint wouldnt get in the way

Taxer, that is a good set up, I always thought the Planet Waves auto-trims weren't that good, Aren't the Sperzal auto trims better? And I have done some neck sending myself.

Good Advice, I just got some Grover locking tuners, and they work real good for me. What about those Air Nortons? I know Buckethead uses them, but that's about all.

I almost got a valvestate head because I knew that's what Chuck used but then I realized there was probably a lot of studio magic involved in order to make it sound good, so I ended up saving my money

Well you have noise right ? If i was you i would change the AX7 tubes out and go with a 7025 , Its a low noise 12AX7. And The Sovtek 12AX7LPS is a low-hum version of the Sovtek 12AX7LP . Tubes Do so much for and to your sound , The earlier Sovtek WA, WB and WXT will get weak and hot and go out on you fast .. But you can go talk to the store where you get your tubes and he will ask more things about the sound your looking for but if you want less noise go with the 7025 but i would check things out 1st so you dont kill your amp ..

Well, I dislike alot of tubes just because I like sticking with the ol Combo's myself. But hey, if I could afford it, I would get some kind of tube.
With Floyd Roses, they are REALLY hit or miss with me, I like Kahler's more, if I could pick any bridge, it would be a hardtail actually, Tune O Matic or a real nice Hipshot or Gotoh. A Floyd is the best trem in the buisness, but I generally just don't use it enough to have one.

For about that price I'd much rather have some ENGL like this one

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLQf0PHqpvU

Or something older and slightly cheaper the Mesa Boogie 2 chan Dual Rectifier (my amp cheers )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mS-X1ss4Gzc (though the guy doesn't seem to dial in really good tones)
