So I'm veiwing forums and blogs trying to find some epic metal, but they keep giving me crappy power metal bands. I was thinking something more along the lines of DoomSword or The Living Fields.

Basically I want songs that are a little longer than is usual, with some nice heavy, yet melodic riffs, maybe a bit of a progressive edge, or maybe a slight folk touch, but most importantly, great vocals. No falsetto screams unless they really can pull it off. A bit of doom or stoner weight would also be welcome.

I'd like to keep symphonics to a minimum if I can...

Just give me some recommendations for some epic metal please!

I know Wotan and GM: JB is one of my favourite vocalists, checking out Ironsword now though, thanks.

I know there's a 99.9% chance you have heard each of these, but there's my two cents worth
