5.
Zyklon - World ov Worms (2001)
1. "Hammer Revelation" – 6:23
2. "Deduced to Overkill" – 3:17
3. "Chaos Deathcult" – 6:00
4. "Storm Detonation" – 4:42
5. "Zycloned" – 5:24
6. "Terrordrome" – 3:59
7. "Worm World" – 4:15
8. "Transcendental War - Battle between Gods" – 7:19
---
Okay first of all this is a decent death metal album. A lot of people find it boring, but it's death metal. It's supposed to be a little boring sometimes. Onto the main topic...well this album is a little nihilistic. This album is more like a premises for the later albums which expose views which I don't agree with. Despite all of this...it does paint a pretty cool atmosphere of a meaningless future full of technology and order. Both musically and lyrically it has a kind of "modern nihilism" aesthetic to it in some senses.
LYRIC SAMPLE:
Where is your millennium?
Where is your kingdom of a thousand years?
What you see is a world of hate, of pitiness,
never again to be set in state.
What you see is what you get
Comments: Yeah yeah yeah whatever. Moving on...

4.
Evoken - Antithesis of Light (2005)
1. "Intro" – 0:50
2. "In Solitary Ruin" – 10:44
3. "Accursed Premonition" – 12:33
4. "The Mournful Refusal" – 13:30
5. "Pavor Nocturnus" – 10:47
6. "Antithesis of Light" – 12:17
7. "The Last of Vitality" – 11:00
---
First of all, this is an excellent funeral doom album. This album portrays one word: hopelessness. Death is coming and life is but a pointless flicker.
LYRIC SAMPLE:
Eternity is an illusion
Burning quickly away into molecular shadow
There is no measure of it; it's depth in endless
It is in the eyes of all who see.
Elusive, the antithesis of light devours life
And eventually, eternity shall endure
When all else has fallen to myth;
And no dream is left to believe.
Comments: Basically you're going to die.

3.
Sunn 0))) - Monoliths & Dimensions (2009)
1. "Aghartha" - 17:34
2. "Big Church [Megszentségteleníthetetlenségeskedéseitekért]" - 9:43
3. "Hunting & Gathering (Cydonia)" - 10:02
4. "Alice" - 16:21
---
Okay I honestly don't really understand what the lyrics of this album are trying to say and I'm too lazy right now to try to figure it out. It just SOUNDS nihilistic and yes that's my only reason for putting it here. In fact it got position #3 just for how goddamn nihilistic it sounds. Listen to the end of that first song.
LYRIC SAMPLE:
I search for the riddle of the clouds
from where a new world shall form
a tunnel gouges in the shapes
of the stream in the great abyss
of the sky
Comments: That's the end of the first song. Just spoken in word. So minimalistic it is even more minimalistic than the drone parts. I have no idea what it means but it sounds pretty cool. Something to do with looking for nature's secrets or something I imagine. Anyways...

2.
Celtic Frost - Monotheist (2006)
1. "Progeny" — 5:01 (Ain/Fischer/Sesa)
2. "Ground" — 3:55 (Fischer/Unala)
3. "A Dying God Coming into Human Flesh" — 5:39 (Ain/Fischer/Unala)
4. "Drown In Ashes" — 4:23 (Fischer)
5. "Os Abysmi Vel Daath" — 6:41 (Ain/Fischer/Sesa/Unala)
6. "Temple of Depression" — 4:59 [on limited digipack edition]
7. "Obscured" — 7:04 (Ain/Fischer/Unala)
8. "Incantation Against You" — 5:06 [on vinyl and Japanese editions]
9. "Domain of Decay" — 4:38 (Ain/Fischer/Unala)
10. "Ain Elohim" — 7:33 (Ain/Fischer/Unala)
11. Triptych:
"Totengott" — 4:27
"Synagoga Satanae" — 14:24
"Winter (Requiem, Chapter Three: Finale)" — 4:32 (Ain/Fischer/Sesa)
---
Now we are going higher up the ladder. This album has an incredibly rough, sludgy, gritty sound in my opinion.
LYRIC SAMPLE:
There is no God but the one that dies with me.
I have no life but the one I take with me to the grave.
We come into this world alone.
And we will die on our own.
I live.
I die.

Ain Elohim.
Comments: I don't know what the last two words meant but I put them in anyways. Yeah there aren't really any questions about this one.

1.
Mayhem - Ordo Ad Chao (2007)
1. A Wise Birthgiver - 3:30
2. Wall of Water - 4:40
3. Great Work of Ages - 3:52
4. Deconsecrate - 4:07
5. Illuminate Eliminate - 9:40
6. Psychic Horns - 6:32
7. Key to the Storms - 3:52
8. Anti - 4:33
---
Well this is the most nihilistic album I've ever heard musically speaking, and lyrically speaking I don't know of any victors over it. It's intense and it has a sickening evil sound to it. It's definitely #1 in my eyes.
LYRIC SAMPLE:
Unknown path
The ways to wisdom are hidden
Shall the speaker silence
Comments: Most intense part of the album.

Agreed. They're infinitely better with Atilla, of course.

Great Sunn pick.
