In all honesty, I think Dio is the better frontman. Ozzy is the undeniable face of Black Sabbath, as much as he doesn't deserve it. But in terms of pure skill, Dio is about ten times better. Plus, Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules both had excellent musicianship from the rest of the band. I just found them to be of the highest quality

yes, but devil's advocate here, ozzy gave them their start and i think was able to have a much broader influence on all metal whereas, correct me on this if i'm wrong, Dio-Sabbath mainly influenced power metal. maybe folk and viking too, though. I could listen to either for hours. Ozzy's voice kinda grates on my nerves after a while but the more i listen to dio the more i question why he sings about rainbows all the time.

Ozzy is only noteworthy because he was in the band at the time of conception. Had he been with average musicians, he would have never been famous. Dio, however, was made of raw talent and had already had success with two bands prior to joining Sabbath.

Dio-Sabbath wasn't much of an influence to power, other than Dio's vocals of course. It was still more of a doomy heavy metal. But of course it influenced power, as well as every other conceivable metal genre in existence
