Welcome one and all to Forgotten Legends, the article that aims to shine the light on the gems of metal that time forgot, introducing you to records that have been lost over the years, and gerenally ram your ears full of awesome.

Who are Crimson Glory? They're a semi-progressive metal band formed in the early 80s who unfortunately always lived their lives in the shadow of Queensr˙che, which is a massive slight on them considering they are the superior band. They did enjoy moderate success in their early yeras, only for time to see them fade. Lead by John McDonald, known more commonly as Midnight, who's voice was half Geoff Tate, half Rob Halford and all eargasm inducing, the band play melodic, hooky, slightly progressive version of classic heavy metal with massive choruses and big character. Their self titled debut remains their masterpiece, and an album wrongly forgotten.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do:

Sadly, Midnight died in July 2009, though the band continue to this day, plugging away in relative obscurity. You could do worse than go and see these guys live!

Yeah, I thought it was a good idea: I'll make it a weekly thing methinks. A looksee you say? I shall have to scour my library for some albums and do something in the coming week.

BTW, I think Crimson Glory is right up your alley, you should love them.

As soon as you said "semi-progressive", "80's", and "Queensryche", I knew I would love it. I'll give it a listen and let you know what I think.
