So I saw a guy playing his guitar jamming and singing at the farmer's market today. He had a briefcase open.

Would you drop a dollar? Yes, no, depends, don't care?

Thoughts on giving/receiving?

One way to get rid of neediness is to eliminate the things in need. Kill the homeless, steal food from the starving, etc.

No. Dude has still got a guitar and breifcase: he has a long way to go before he really needs charity.

I usually donate my christmas bonus to Save the Children.

There are some guys downtown playing guitar (one dude sounds/looks like an old famous blue's player) only the guitar is covered in duct tape. Some street muscians are really good...they should all join and become an awesome band.

I do not give often because I've heard that if you DO decide to give to someone on the street, you should give them something specific..food, coffee, clothing bit, etc. Money can go anywhere. I would rather donate to charities but I guess some of them are corrupt as well...or the money does not get to them. Still, helping someone out always feels good and if you tell yourself the money won't go towards something that is not necessary it feels better.

I believe in it but I often do not practice it due to not having much disposable income.

Almost never donate, but I have volunteered with charities for a really long time

Byd, this is how it starts, you know. One day it's "I like Blink 182", the next it's "I think I like men".

I will not donate to beggars. But if there is someone on the street playing an instrument, I would gladly donate them some money for the performance. I also don't want to give cash to straight up beggars because you never know if they're a drug addict or an alcoholic. I don't have much money, so I don't want to waste it to further someone's addictions.
