PostSubject: Line 6, the Toilet of All Amps?   Thu Jul 01, 2010 5:18 pm

Two years ago, I bought a Line 6 Spider III 15 watt amp for a starting amp, the guy at Guitar Center told me it was amazing and that's what he played. Being new to guitar I trusted him. Since then there are two things I will never do, purchase anything related to Line 6, and purchase anything from Guitar Center unless it is absolutely necessary, or dirt cheap, i.e. strings. This amp is a total piece of crap, and I should have spent the money more wisely, it would have been better used wiping my ass. And so I have suffered these two years with this horrible contraption and a new amp is yet another thing added to my list of things needed for my guitar. It's fucking impossible to get a sound you want with this damn thing, everything is preset and you're only able to adjust those programmed channels. The clean channel sounds like garbage, every time I use it, the fucking reverb comes on, I have to turn the reverb up and down to get it to go away, and I can still hear it ever so slightly even when I turn it down. This fucking model is incompatible with all the crappy accessories they have for it, the damn thing doesn't even have a tuner build in to it.

But there is a point to all this. First, if anyone has one of these abhorrent devices, do you have any good settings you use?

Second, what would be amp to buy next?

My TranZamp has been pretty good to me, other than picking up fucking radio signals

Hey, my lil fender practice served me well for a LONG time. Otherwise, I recommend Raven.

I have the same amp, only it's a 30 watt. Do you still have the manual for it?

You can set program each of the buttons for a different setting, you don't have to use the presets. I changed mine right when I got it because the clean setting is horrendous.

Raven =worst piece of garbage to ever come out in the market ever. Rather have a line 6. and i hate line 6

For low budget amps either buy peavey or vox. Those seem to get the most bang for your buck ive heard. Go to musiciansfriend look up some amps and reviews and then go to a store and try them out. Fender practice amps seem to work good as well.

Raven=Budget.

You can't get a better clean for the dollar. Not everyone can afford Mesa Boogie or Marshall. And at least Raven isn't digital shit like Line 6.

there is plenty other budget amps that are out there that sound tremendously better. Fender, crate (though is still dislike them for the most part - some stuff is good), and low end peavey and vox. Vox makes these very versatile practice amps. Everyone i know has one of those 3 amps for practice. All sound way better then raven. And dont talk like i have alot of money. I have 0 moneys and spend countless hours online looking for deals of the century Razz i maintain -raven = garbage ( in my opinion)

loves you though. happy b-day again Smile

its opinion though i would like to say. And my opinion is coming from listening to it only a couple times. not that reliable ill agree. tone was bad to me though. maybe there are tweaks that i do not know about. whatever works. i would suggest playing through everything though
