Just a random thought I had. Post your favourites.

I'm tired just now and can't be arsed listing that many but here's a few:

Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest

Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight

Christopher Lee in The Lord Of The Rings

John Travolta in Pulp Fiction

mickey rourke had one and only one movie he was a decent actor in: The Wrestler. and he was only good in that becuase the story was made like, EXACTLY for him. the screenplay for that movie was diabolically good

He's not in it that much but there's one scene where you just think "This guy is unbelievable". If you see it, you'll know which scene I'm on about.

Christopher Lee in LotR? WTF? He's in for like 10 minutes and it isn't anywhere near his best work. If anyone should be aplauded for that film it's Serkis.

Anyway, Gary Oldman in Leon: best fucking bad guy ever.

He was fucking brilliant in it, man. Nearly everyone in that film was (with the exception of Orlando Bloom). Plus, he's one of my favourite actors. Best bad guy actor ever.

besides. the movie wasnt a huge place for acting talent. i mean, they all acted like the same character. i saw nothing special except for maybe whinny frodo.

Viggo Mortensen, Ian McKellen, Sean Bean, Liv Tyler, Hugo Weaving, all the guys that played the hobbits. All fucking great.

Orlando Bloom wasn't as bad as he normally is in them. He still wasn't that great.

There is literally no other actor out there who could've done what Serkis did portraying Gollum.

Everyone else was made to look by good because of Jackson's directing: performances were hardly extraordinary.

Is overrated. Again, the scene and directing made him. Shouting "you shall not pass" does not qualify as good acting.

ian mckellen did squat. i mean, seriously. there was no feat of acting in that entire movie. aside from serkis.

the movie was a great story, the actors didnt do much to make thaat movie.
