You've just never seen me really get going before. I can pretty passionately rant about a band I hate. Just ask my friends who like BMTH. LOL

NewAlbumReleases FTW...

On a serious note, I don't particualy like these bands: it's not that they are all that bad, it's just there are so many bands who do it better.

Okay well first up Amogh Symphony...
I pretty much have the same comment that most people here had who found some merit to it. I liked the softer parts and electronic parts. Some of it was very awesome. However those parts were somewhat short lived and I couldn't find myself "riding their back" throughout the album. When the technical metal parts came up it just kind of killed what could have been a good motion. Maybe I could have enjoyed the technical metal parts but they weren't anything that clever, at least not to my ears. So I give Amogh Symphony a middle score on your vote choices.

Then there is Canvas. I quite enjoyed it. I have to say I really like a lot of your music taste Brute. A lot of the stuff you listen to tends to have this sort of sound...not sure how I would describe it. Canvas had such a sound and it was very consistent and enjoyable. I might have to give it another listen. So I give a thumbs up on Canvas.

Okay, here's my review. I listened to Canvas Solaris last night, or this morning I guess, and then listened to Amogh Symphony on my zune earlier today.

Canvas Solaris

There were some very good aspects to this group. It is super chill, which always goes over well with me, but it had some very cool uptempo sections. Sometimes it got a bit boring though, but the awesome parts made up for it. Overall, I give a thumbs up and probably a solid B if you want that system. Now onto AS...

Amogh Symphony
I wanted to like this, I really did, but I couldn't. There were some good ideas floating around, but the complete and utter lack of direction ruined any redeeming quality that I could find. The music felt like it was going nowhere, and I think AS is a good example of a progressive metal band being as such just for the sake of being progressive. It simply didn't hold my interest, and some sections straight up annoyed me. But, like most everyone else, I did enjoy the more electronic and chill sounding sections. There is potential though, but only if they start getting some fresh ideas and work on the song writing. Skill means nothing if you can't put it into something cohesive and interesting. I'd give them a D most likely, because it could have been much worse.

Sorry about the delay in the review by the way. I'm giving in and using headphones, and my zune.
