lol no, that was world war two good sir. Roosevelt pulled us out of the depression about as much as obama is pulling us out of this recession, which is to say, not at all.

</sarcasm>

you are just parroting what the media tells you to hahaah

its not like the pen hits the paper and economy is back to 100%. it is such a complex thing. roozevelt made millions of jobs during the depression. it helped to maintain our national parks and gave us a huge leap in infrastructure.
"Roosevelt dominated the American political scene, not only during the twelve years of his presidency, but for decades afterward. He orchestrated the realignment of voters that created the Fifth Party System. FDR's New Deal Coalition united together labor unions, big city machines, white ethnics, African Americans and rural white Southerners. Roosevelt's diplomatic impact also resonated on the world stage long after his death, with the United Nations and Bretton Woods as examples of his administration's wide-ranging impact. Roosevelt is consistently rated by scholars as one of the greatest U.S. Presidents.[3]" (wiki)

Please, don't tell me I believe what the media tells me. Glenn Beck is the only news program I watch regularly, because our political opinions nearly match. Plus I think you would actually agree with some of what he says if you would watch him. Aside from that, I do the research myself. I'm a political junkie so I actually look this stuff up and get the facts on my own, and then formulate my own opinion. And I was obviously joking about the socialist thing.

But as for Roosevelt goes, if we are going to have a real discussion about this, created unsustainable government jobs. He also created the pencil pusher jobs where employees accomplished nothing, but were still paid by the government, AKA tax dollars. Aside from that, all it did was create more labor unions which are whats fucking with the economy today. Like the autoworkers who refuse to get paid less that 80 dollars an hour with lifetime benefits, and who cannot be fired. We are feeling his changes today very negatively. A prime example of that is the unsustainable social security act, which will soon be giving out more money than it's taking in.

Sure, his plans helped out temporarily, but it does not change the fact that they were both unsustainable and socialist (for the most part). World War 2 was the real reason we got out of the depression, largely due to cash and carry weapons manufacturing.
