I aint talking no new crap that they play on CMT and the radio that is just pop music with a cowboy hat, Im talking real old school Outlaw Country like Hank, Cash, and even Jamey Johnson. Infact, when people ask me now whether or not I listen to country I ask them, be more specific.

I grew up listening to old country music, riding shotgun with my dad in his big rig, or sitting in the living room with my grandparents watching Grand Ole Opry. It's in my blood, and was my first music love.

Just wondering if anyone here knows what Im talking about, and doesnt just think that pop/country is all country.

Just for good measure...

and...

and lastly...

I like a lot of older country as well. Johnny Cash is excellent of course, and I like Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, Marty Robbins, etc.

Johnny Cash is so cash- he's my idol of folk just as I like Eminem but can't stand rap.
I need a name for this kind of thing.

people usually call artists like that transendent, because they transcend the genre and make people like them regardless of their tastes. at least thats what ive heard some people say
