A lot of what Hans Zimmer composes is pretty great. Harry Gregson-Williams is a total legend.

If you're looking for cinematic music, Max Richter composes in the vein of the modern score, yet chooses not to bridle his creations visually. A very valuable listen, nevertheless.

I'm a big fan of John Williams and Howard Shore, but those are both pretty obvious choices. Also, Jeremy Soule (who does the Elder Scrolls games) is a fantastic composer. It's pretty much a film score if you ask me.

Also, I can't agree more with Max Richter. Great stuff.

this and also john williams is obvious given even though he basically writes the same kind of thing every time but thats what people want anyway when they hire him.

hands down, my favorite soundtrack is the LOTR soundtrack though. no fucking competition

I agree with what everyone has said, especially John Williams.
Also, Clint Mansell.

I like more videogame soundtracks though than movies

Does your name have anything to do with the band of the same name?
