There are two channels: MarbleHornets and totheark. To this date, both are still posting videos. It's very well done.

That's what I thought in the beginning too. It starts slow and I thought it was some amateur attempt.

Things progressively get more twisted. It's worth it.

i posted this last year. its one of the greatest things ever. not many things scare the shit out of me to the point where i can't fall asleep till its light out (basically nothing cuz i like sleep). marble hornets did that to me last summer with entry (i wont tell) but its between 15 and 29. better to watch by yourself in ur room with no lights and you really need to watch alot of them and you have to allow yourself to get sucked into it. and find the playlist, makes it easier to keep track of both accounts. season 2 is pretty freakin great so far as well. also- another HUGE hint cuz my friends didnt catch it at all at first when i showed them. ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR EVERYTHING. many of the sweet ass bits are EXTREMELY FUCKING SUBTLE. many of my friends missed so many things. you should be thinking "wow, thats ridiculous" by episode 5.

for you nay-sayers. go and fucking watch it again.

got yo back tril

Thanks, LOR. I knew somebody was paying attention. I must ask: when does the first season stop and the second season start? I'm not aware of any change past what I've seen on YouTube and when I went to buy the DVD (I haven't yet, just window shopping for now but I plan to shortly) I didn't get a list of the entries included.

Marble Hornets challenges how attentive you are and rewards you with more. How willing you are to pay attention and look outside the lines. It gives you most of the 'how,' but almost never the 'why.' That's where the ARGesque element comes in, but most people just post on YouTube their relentless praise for the series (not a bad thing, but also not very original or provocative.) Still, I'm not sure if this is more intriguing or scary as while I don't feel particularly frightened of seeing what happens, what occurs to the characters is made very realistically. It blurs the line of fiction very well and I'll freely admit to letting myself completely obscure it while I consider Marble Hornets.

This isn't instant gratification, put short. I'm actually surprised you went to try it, byd.

I agree with Tri its fun because you have to pay attention and yes it looks fake in many regards well because it is. You have to suspend the disbelief and let yourself get sucked into J's adventures through hell as his life and his sanity begin to slowly collapse as he searches for answers. It doesn't give you all the answers so you have to search for them and watch some of the videos more than once and really look for what is going on and who the major players are.

That one actually made me jump. There are plenty of moments where you think nothing is occuring, but they're masters of suspense.

Calling it "fake" isn't right, though. I can't agree with that. It's like going to see a movie: sure, it isn't reality, but does that make what it is trying to tell you fake? Are the concepts presented to you that drive each character contrived or unreal? If so, you're watching too much sci-fi or are a bit of a nihilist (and I do empathize with the latter). The line blurs if you let it, and come the night and your freedom of people, it shall. The context in which the events in MH appear are made to provoke not only the characters in the story, but as a presentation to us. To challenge our ability to go forward with nothing more than the essentials. It ultimately succeeds each time you are forced to consider the question of 'why?' To this date, I don't think anybody's figured it out, but it looks like something even more insane is about to happen according to the latest entry.

Spoiler:

But, thanks for clarifying.

Agreed, it's such an intensely emotional series to me. Only the second series I've ever been involved in that once I went in I never left. I'll be perfectly honest when traveling around my house at night I use very minimal lights make sure all the blinds are closed before I use any light I stay away from windows the full nine yards lol.

I was hiding in the corner scared and giggling and then he started jumping out of his chair going "AAHHH OMG OMG" and I was laughing LOL!

Watched to episode #22 holy crap. Fucking Slenderman- I need to watch more. So they've been doing this for like 3 years? Shit. I mean of course it isn't real but its very well put together

I'm a bit confused as to the masked guy. So its Tim...But the question is why

I think it's safe to stop using spoiler tags if people are of the type to click on this thread.

Tim's sanity is left in the balance after his personal encounters with the Operator. He once caught him off guard after he attacked J in the house and got pretty nasty evidence of his existence beyond the concept that he was a figment of hallucinatory imaginations.

Personally, I believe Tim views J (and Alex by proxy) as thorns in his side, and has taken the road less traveled by taking his fight to the Operator, all the while having another one of his doppelgangers (the second masked man) help use Alex and J for information.

I'm not sure what the masks represent.

As to your bringing up of the doors, Darkflame, the footage is cool and all but the possibility does exist. Maybe it was meant to combat the effects of dealing with the Operator: the chronic chest pain, the coughing up blood, dizziness.. I'm starting to wonder if we diagnose their symptoms after coming in contact with him, that we'll find a link to the drug they were using and perhaps that can tell us more about the situation. Other than that, I've no real leads.

Whatever it does, it may also have the capacity to induce short-term amnesia, seeing as neither J, his neighbor at the hotel nor Alex were unfettered by the memory loss they've dealt with.

Funny how that hasn't been brought up on Unfiction or YouTube analyses.

The segments where hes goes through houses for 7 minutes are so damn scary.
I like how there is very little dialog, really builds atmosphere

The storyline is very interesting. In some parts its very predictable. In the early clips they point out a tower and don't know what to say about it and later on they find some drawings that talk about a tower.

Then later the guy gets amnesia nearly every other tape lol

Must watch more, on #27

You're led to believe that if the footage doesn't exist, there's no way to remember the time that lapsed between it all, right? I saw a trend with that a mile away, but it still doesn't relent in from my asking why they're doing it like this. At first, I thought it was tactless, but now I see it's anything but and merely waiting to be revealed.

It's been 2 weeks since the last entry, so I think we're bound to get something soon.

I think we're going to end up finishing this season, then revisiting the time lost between 1 and 2. I'm just calling it.
