What kind of stuff are you into playing man?

Right now I'm working on an acoustic project. An american-folk style sound I suppose. Quite a bit of fun actually.

I was pretty into lead for a while but I'm now 100% acoustic. Trying to sing actually. I have a fairly deep for so I really like hitting up those songs. I'm pretty bad but it is very fun to play

Every song I play- I sing. I almost never just learn the chords then move on

Mostly right now I'm writing my own stuff, and going to work out a few covers to do with a buddy of mine. Might have another acquaintance participating. I'm writing stuff for two guitars, maybe a bass and harmonica. I'm not a good singer though, but I'm working on vocals. The one guy who is interested in collaborating sings too, in kind of an indie/folky sort of way. Here's a VERY rough recording I did of one of the songs we'll cover, it's just something I recorded for the guys to listen to

I am writing a solo project, mainly myth inspired metal. Also working on Holy Wars, fucking hard. I got my Fender Strat with EMG 81s, my PRS Mikeal Akerfeldt signature, Xaviere acoustic 6 string, aspen 12 string, and a raven RG100, with pedals because the tone is god awful. Close to getting a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier.

im not a fan of the triple recs. they always sound mushy to ears. that being said, i have used them in the studio before, but that was because it was the only hi-gain amp there. i would search around a bit more unless your set on it (obviously a popular amp). its not bad, just i think there are cooler and even cheaper stuff out there. (not the cabinet though, those are great, just talking about the head). and myth metal- sounds epic

Ehhhh, I have heard only good things. My bud just got a 6505+ and I didn't see the point. Maybe a Engl Powerball. Those things are sick. Got an EQ pedal today, helps alot. I also have learned not to skimp on the distortion aspect, fuck, there are some gross pedals out there.

i would get the engl if you could (if i had the money i totally would). they're just fucking ridiculous. they got balls man. friend has the 6505+, and i honestly like my cheap valveking better. i completely retubed mine though. and why get a distortion pedal if your getting a one of those amps? (maybe i misunderstood that though). overdrive in front makes sense though, that can tighten up the low end up a bit. i only use my eq for leads right now. i would like to get one to keep on the whole time also though. dont have the cash. :/

Neither do I currently, lol. Saving money is a priority over a nice pretty ENGL right now. Getting in touch with my funk roots lately too.
