stole the idea from smashboards (forum for people who love super smash brother too much- like me- but i never go on- neat thread idea though)

simple enough, listen to the song above, rate the song out of 10, post your own song and repeat

7/10, great riffs but needed more of a song structure. A chorus would have been nice

5/10. didn't really enjoy that to be honest. vocals weren't my thing, the production wasn't either, typewriter kick drums and scooped guitars (which i like on somethings) but not on this. when the symphonic elements kicked in I just found them cheesy in a bad way. Guitar solos were pretty decent though, and some of the riffs were interesting.

I really liked that song instrumentally. It creates an amazing atmosphere. I really got sucked into it. Yet the vocals for the first half kind of killed it for me. Screaming has never been my thing (boy did I come to the wrong place). Had the vocals been the same as the vocals in the middle throughout the song, I'd give it a 9/10. But with the vocals kind of killing the mood, I'll give it a 8/10.

I've been following Riverside for a few years now. The only problem I ever have with them is that they go a little overboard with the melodrama and that's an unfortunate tendency for any melodic metal band. That being said, they've still got some absolute jewels in their arsenal. I really love the synthetic sound, the bells and the ambiance, especially around 3:15. I tend to get bored of repetitive riffs, so I think it was longer than it had to be. Still, excellent song. 8.4/10

No riffs, keyboards, woman clean parts, and bad production. It's like they tried to make a bad song.

not a huge sabaton fan. they dont do anything for me. the initial aesthetic of the music pleases me though (big sounds/choruses and whatnot), nothing beyond that though. good solo

they are releasing a new album soon

Good song, very jammy and definitely makes you feel pretty good. I love music like that, not all the time, but every now and then it's great.

great atmosphere and melody. usually not my kind of thing but i liked it. the voice was a bit off-putting for me because it had a bit of a country tinge in it which doesn't usually agree with me.

It had some neat build up but it didn't really go anywhere. Don't like the singer very much and the song is about 3 minutes too long.

Before I rate taxer's song, LOR. I loved the Polkadot Cadaver song. Very jaunty and I had fun tryna sing along. But the keyboard, it seemed kinda goofy. And then, the vocals blow me away, so this is tough to call. Fantastic musical variety, but at the cost of a disunited aesthetic. 8.7/10

Good Day to Die - I was hoping for metal. Given that I hate rap, i shouldnt be rating this. These rhymes is ok, but the singer's goofy-ass friends in the background made the whole thing sound kinda dumb. I dont know any rap songs to compare this to, so I guess I'll just give this a 5/10 for no good reason.

Musically seems fine, though once again I feel like the vocals don't fit. They would have been better off with a more gravely and lower-pitched vocalist, like along the lines of Johnny Cash.

6/10 (mind you I use 5 as average, so 6 and above is good for me)

hated the vocals- just seemed like an incomprehensible mess, the only riff i liked was somewhere around 5:30, the rest was too distorted to hear. production was pretty bad and the performances weren't tight, the riff somewhere around 8:00 was noticeably sloppy.

friend band, love these guys. video is hilarious to me, though that might be because I know them. also lead singer (guy in pink shirt)- his real name is Righteous....so jealous

Arsis are the embodiment of what is wrong with metal. Clicky drums, sterile production, needless wankery, boring melodies, and no riffs. Doesn't surprise me that you like them though because you like a lot of awful things already.

Some of the riffs were neat, but they I feel they just moved on too quickly from idea to idea. Also, SQUEEL SQUEEL. too many pinch harmonics for my liking. Needless to say, not my thing, but they were technically proficient and was interesting to listen to. yo also Dies, I saw The Atlas Moth open for Devin Townshend and Gojira a few weeks back. They were pretty good live- the crowd wasn't there for them obviously (for the most part), but they put on an interesting set.

I'm kinda torn. I really wanted to like it, but there is something not right about it for me. I guess it just didn't really do anything for me, for indie/alternative type music I don't into the "party" music as much. It's definitely not bad though, just not particularly my cup of tea

Pretty solid. I've not gotten into much stoner metal honestly, but by the sound of that I might be able to. The only parts I don't like is when it gets to a point where it drones on that guitar chop. It wouldn't be that bad if there was a little more going on with it, like more nuanced stuff.

0/10 for eminem whatever

Yeah I know what you mean. I love Mount Eerie though, Wind's Poem is their "black metal" album. They usually make folky alternative type stuff, but with that they took a lot of black metal influences. So I tend to think of it as their normal material, just really lo-fi

liked the song, cool riffs, stayed interesting, solo was awesome, only thing i wasn't too fond of was the vocals as they did the shreiking thing sometimes which just sounded like the singers voice was cracking, probably going to revisit those guys though

Of course, as a raving Iommi fan, I liked it. It made me happy and the guitar was pretty and the vocalist didnt make me cringe. But at some point in the song, it felt a little passionless to me. I think it's just that the refrain didnt blow me away or anything. The song was kind of a plateau of consistent loud. 7.5

I liked their tone and some of the riffs pretty cool. Just wish the vocalist wasn't trying to sound like James Hetfield.

7.5/10
awesome riffs and the production was fitting. vocals seemed forced to me (read up on them that they are kinda young- could be that)

It's not actually too bad doom-deathmetal but somehow I dont get in this... Maybe reason is also that its not my kind of metal.
