I work for my mother's property management business. I am the first employee to lean towards the rental side of the industry. The business has been completely simply property maintenance and insurance when something goes wrong. For whatever reason I decided that I could do that in addition to renting out housing. Ah, could be cool, I'd make a good landlord. I just ordered signs and they came in on Friday, so I'll stick those out when I have a chance

I'm a studio camera operator for the local Fox News affiliate. I work the morning show. Yeah I push cameras around and yell at people for a living. It's pretty cool.

Actually despite how bad the national coverage is our local stuff is pretty damn good. I mean I would much rather work for a different station but pay is pay and jobs are hard to find right now lol. So in the mean time I take their money!

I work for a accountancy firm that specializes in company formations and anti-money laundering. Senior client manager for the UK, since the Japan project got trashed, as I was the head of operations over there. Fucking budget cuts fucked me over. Still, I get a decent wage and can work from home most days, so I won't complain too much.

Reported a couple of suspected terrorists etc when using our background check programme, otherwise it's pretty sedate for the most part.

I am unemployed, woo.

Last job I had was last summer where I proctored and graded some standardized test for children whose first language wasn't English. Was kinda boring but it paid well, sometimes got laughs from silly answers.

What kind of things do you see on a background check? Have always been curious; is it just to check for crimes?
Do you do credit checks?

Employee trainer at taco bell, and manager-in-training. Not a bad gig while I go to school. Still, it's helped stress how much I need to put into getting a career that I'll be passionate about

We see everything, your entire credit history, convictions, both civil and criminal, property history... pretty much nothing is untouched.

I work from home most days, I get to see all the things people rather I couldn't, I literally make companies and I make the best part of £27,000 ($41,000). Yeah, I'm so sad.

technically, I'm part time I guess because they have flexible scheduling. But I almost always get between 38-40 a week, and sometimes overtime. It's terrible

Fast food is not fun. When I was at Dairy Queen the whole dream of working with desserts was crushed by the burgers and fries. Also, I was the only guy that worked there. Awesome right, all chicks? Wrong. Most of them were a handful of years younger or were really really into Dairy Queen regulations.

Supervisor: DAVE
Me: Uhh yeah?
Super: What are you doing?!
Me:...taking out the garbage?
Super: You have to take a partner with you for safety!
Me:..............

I remember when I'd go on lunch my supervisors were passionate that I would clock out before I grab my sandwich so I wouldn't get paid for the 20 seconds it took for me to go to the back to get it. I of course took most of this personally which didn't help. I think I was rattled that these kids were younger than me and I was just bitter.

One time she was on break and I was wandering in the freezer looking for something. And I was in there for a decent time, I couldn't find whatever I was looking for. Then suddenly I look in the corner and she's fucking sitting there on a crate reading a book. Does not even look up. Scared the crap out of me. Godamn ice queen sitting in the freezer during her break? You will kneel before your ice quen

The assistant manager did say that I was her favourite co-worker which was good.

I remember on my first day that I worked there I was training with another guy my age. He was a chill guy, similar interests and it all. After that one time he stopped showing up. Everyone thought him and I were friends and that just wrecked my reputation right off the start

I feel like that's the case (no offense to anyone) with everyone who is overqualified for fast-food. I've been in the promotion process for awhile, and one reason it's been as long as it has been is I have a "poor mindset." That is, dealing with incompetents all day stresses me out too much. It's almost not worth it. If I didn't have a chance of making ten dollars an hour I wouldn't do it. This is how it works being a manager, or a manager in training where I'm at

Day 1

Upper-management: Jake, why the fuck haven't you made speed of service on your shifts? Why didn't that fuckup finish frying nachos before he left? Jake, you need to make sure you coach and teach and let your employees know the expectations!
Me: Got it boss!

Day 2
Me: Hey moron employee, can you...
Moron employee: What? I'm busy!
Me: Can you finish the nachos before you leave today?
Moron employee: I was going to do that anyways! *scowls*
Me: Alright, coo
Upper management: Jake, you need to not be so demanding to the employees!
Me: uhhhhh....
Upper management: Jake, why didn't fuckup finish frying nachos before he left?

I hate my job.

I think the whole fast food industry is a cancer where almost everyone is nasty to each other. I remember I got hired at McDonalnds by a super pleasent guy, and they had to let me go because the main boss decided I wasn't in the budget suddenly

ametudes - from bartending to art galleries - how old are you?

@ Dies - I just meant the work itself sounds boring. Take it easy, man.
@ Byd - I went to your mom's website and found this video. If that's your mom in it, I'll go to Canada and seduce her. jk
