I spy with my little eye the skewing of science and conspiracy theory gone awry. The truths are being grossly exaggerated and for every accuracy made in the article, they lay waste to the all too easy target of human leadership.

It's true we're ruining the planet to a degree, but this is political journalism at best. CO2 is sort of necessary for the planet, global warming or not. They don't care about the planet, they care about self-preservation. That's a good thing, but masquerading as these saviors of the earth? Please.

I believe I'm getting more right wing as I age. Liberal thoughts are baby fat

i started out right wing, then went left, then hated everything, then stayed in the middle... and now im back to hating everything... i think ill stay that way because everything is dildos and politics is dumb.

but even if you disagree with the way they presented themselves in the article, if what they say is true, regardless of how inflated their egos appear to be, then we probably should bring more attention to it.  It seemed like we tried finding gas alternatives 7 years ago for a few months and then completely forgot about it

COME ON SCIENTISTS!! DO SCIENCE AND STUFF WHILE I SIT HERE COMPLAINING ABOUT SHIT ON THE INTERNET cheers

Yes, I most certainly agree that the greenhouse effect is a very real, tangible and detrimental to the maintenance of human life, but nothing further. The planet will recuperate without us. I think Al Gore did a good job bringing global warming to the forefront after his presidential bid in 2000, although even that was as politically subtle as a national healthcare bill.

We have alternatives for gas and it's hardly anything that's been forgotten. The hybrid market is testament to that, however seldom it may be to those who even see them on the road much less own them for their exorbitant prices and slipshod design. There are universities studying these things in various fields of engineering, namely biochemical, among other sciences. The problem is mainstreaming it.

It isn't being monetized for various reasons; petroleum is everywhere, fossil fuels are in demand for archaic machines, it would cost more at the ground level to adopt a cleaner energy source, "going green" almost always seems to be futile, et cetera. In the 80s, there was this giant push for a paperless society. With the advent of smartphones, the internet, facsimile and other forms of digital communication, we still neglect to get away from turning forests into paper mills. What's up with that? There are too many reasons why people aren't going for cleaner energy, but if it's one thing the article got right, it's that we're turning a blind eye to the innovation of man.

We're more than a bunch of carts on wheels burning gas and pushing products, but corporate Earth doesn't want people to know that. Tragic.

EDIT: Fkuc yuo, speeling erors!1

^ i think that was what i wanted to get at. you explained it much better. it feels like just laziness and unwillingness to change. corporate earth obviously doesnt want anyone to change like you said, but at the same time, I feel people are aware, but they still let what others say influence their final decisions on things. i know ive been trying to be more "green" as of late. granted, i dont have the money for a car that runs on water, but i kinda wish i did, then i woulnt need to spend money on gas and shit. idk, i feel like the upfront costs for all these things is expensive, but everything would just pay off in the long run.

Basically we need to find a new source of energy or else we're fucked. There aren't any real disagreements among the scientific community regarding the averse effects of global warming. The only real topic of disagreement is whether we're gonna be fucked by 2050 or by 2100 if keep the same rate of carbon emission and fossil fuel use.

Apathy has overtaken all other forms of energy.

I would love to get behind a green movement that meant something, but the results aren't real enough for mass awareness. Getting warmer doesn't phase people anymore.
